Boruto Revitalizes Series with Two Blue Vortex’s Latest Chapter

The Boruto series has reignited fan enthusiasm with its new sequel, Blue Vortex, unfolding four years after the original manga.

The fourth chapter of Boruto: Two Blue Vortex has become the year’s most popular manga chapter.

As reported by borutotwobluevortex, this latest chapter in the sequel series has garnered over a million views on Shueisha’s Mangaplus, ranking as 2023’s top chapter on the platform. Set four years after Boruto’s climactic battle with Kawaki, Blue Vortex’s time skip under Kishimoto’s direction has sparked renewed interest in a series that saw a dip in popularity since its 2016 launch.

In just four chapters, Two Blue Vortex has introduced significant developments. Boruto’s power has notably surged, showcased by his new Rasengan Uzuhiko, drawing energy from the planet’s chakra for a potent blast. Additionally, he masters the Second Hokage’s Flying Thunder God technique, one of the most formidable jutsus. Chapter 4 sets Boruto on a path to gain more power to defeat four new antagonists from the Divine Tree, chakra’s origin.

Boruto: Naruto Next Generations began in Weekly Shonen Jump in May 2016, tracing Naruto’s son’s journey to step out of his father’s shadow and become a formidable ninja. Although it includes beloved characters from Naruto, Boruto has faced criticism for not living up to the original. Alongside Boruto, spin-offs like Sasuke’s Story: The Uchiha and the Heavenly Stardust have been published, with some storylines making it into Pierrot’s 2017 Boruto adaptation, reigniting debates about the series’ legacy.

Despite mixed reactions, Boruto maintains steady viewership with a blend of action and humor. A memorable scene, Boruto, Kawaki, and Naruto’s bathroom battle, recently outperformed a major One Piece fight in YouTube streaming views. The final episode of Boruto Season 1 aired on March 26, 2023, and Pierrot has confirmed Season 2, though the release date remains undisclosed. Masashi Kishimoto and Mikio Ikemoto’s Two Blue Vortex debuted on Aug. 20, 2023, in Shueisha’s V-Jump magazine.

Both Boruto: Naruto Next Generations and Boruto: Blue Vortex are available in English through VIZ Media.
